Our Broker, Brooks
Bowman, is considered by his many repeat clients to be an enthusiastic,
affable and caring person with a good sense of humor which helps to
lighten the intensity levels that are somewhat inherent in the real estate
business. Brooks Bowman brought to his career, as a real estate licensee, years
of home building and remodeling experience as well as years of experience
in various sales capacities. His start with the real estate industry
began, as many do, in the mortgage sector of the business. His experience
as a loan officer and notary public in California in which he served
as "the go to guy" for several lenders who hired him as their loan closer
/ sign up agent, helped him tremendously to grow in experience and
knowledge. He met a ton of people in all walks of life delivering and
conducting the signings of loan documents to homes from areas of great
diversity including "the hood" in L.A. as well as the mansions of Bel Air
and Beverly Hills. Many of these signings were clients of
his own as he
achieved monthly volume bonuses often in his break out year as a Loan
Officer out of Laguna Hills.
Brooks first
experienced the wonders of Hawaii in 1961 as a five year old. His parents
fondly tell the story of how he paddled his inner-tube out in the late
afternoon to get closer to the surfers in the line-up at Waikiki. After
many many trips to all of the main islands over the years, Brooks finally
was able to fulfill his lifelong dream by moving to the island of Oahu in 1989. He
often quotes a bumper sticker he once saw which says "I am not native, but
I got here as soon as I could".
Brooks was able to
find and marry his wife, Susan, in 1995 after moving back to the mainland.
Susan, affectionately known as the 'real broker around here', shared her
vast knowledge of, and experience in, the real estate industry (please see
Susan's bio) with her new husband and the rest is real estate marriage
history as they say. The two made the leap back to Hawaii on July 4, 1999
and are to this day a formidable force to the great benefit of their
clients. Believing solely in the philosophy of service, service, service,
their mutual success in doing just that is the reason they are making a
very good "go" of their company, Hawaii Discount Realty. No, Brooks
does not get to surf as much as he would like to, but he really enjoys the
huge personal rewards of making things happen for his clients. His biggest
thrill is being in business with Susan while setting and achieving goals
for the betterment of the business and the inspiration of their marriage.
